Self Esteem has revealed a new album entitled “A Complicated Woman” and has released its first track, “Focus Is Power.”

The singer, whose real name is Rebecca Lucy Taylor, made the announcement about “Complicated Woman” on her social networks today, with a release date set for April 25 via Polydor.

In addition to the album announcement, she unveiled her new single “Focus Is Power,” a moving ballad performed by a largely female choir that emphasizes self-confidence and determination.

According to a press release, “Complicated Woman” addresses the importance of reclaiming control over one’s life while highlighting the unnecessary demands placed on women.

The upcoming album will include contributions from Moonchild Sanelly, Nadine Shah, and Sue Tompkins of Life Without Buildings.
