See Lady Gaga Surprise Everyone with Andy Samberg in their ‘Dick in a Box’ Duet on ‘SNL50’

Lady Gaga and Andy Samberg’s Unexpected Collaboration

Lady Gaga teamed up with Andy Samberg for a surprising blend of comedy and music on Saturday Night Live‘s SNL 50: Homecoming concert. Check out the highlights below.

Celebrating 50 Years of SNL

The concert occurred last night (February 14) as part of the celebration for SNL‘s 50th anniversary, hosted by SNL alum Jimmy Fallon, with Lorne Michaels and Mark Ronson serving as executive producers.

Previously announced performers included Backstreet Boys, Bad Bunny, Brandi Carlile, Chris Martin, Jack White, and Miley Cyrus. Many fans were looking forward to her latest hit “Abracadabra,” one of three tracks she recently teased from her upcoming album “Magra.”

However, she surprised the audience by sharing the stage with Brooklyn 99‘s Samberg, who donned a wig and cowboy hat as he attempted a rendition of Bradley Cooper’s song from A Star is Born.

The “Disease” singer concluded her segment by playfully saying, “I must stop you because it is bad,” before suggesting they should do something “more in (his) vocal range.”

“There is one song, but Justin (Timberlake) is not here to do his part,” Samberg quipped, to which Gaga responded, “Andy, don’t be a snob. I’ll do it with you,” as they kicked off a duet of Lonely Island’s classic “Dick in a Box,” which first aired during a 2006 episode of SNL with Timberlake.

They were then joined by Bad Bunny, T-Pain, Chris Parnell, Eddie, and former Lonely Island member Jorma Taccone for memorable hits like “Motherlover,” “Lazy Sunday,” “I’m on a Boat,” “Jack Sparrow,” and “I Just Slept in My Pants.”

Elsewhere, surviving Nirvana members Krist Novoselic, Dave Grohl, and Pat Smear reunited for the second time in two weeks, this time featuring Post Malone on vocals for “Smells Like Teen Spirit.”

Celebrations will continue on Sunday (February 16) with the SNL 50 Anniversary Special, featuring confirmed guests Paul McCartney, Sabrina Carpenter, and Paul Simon.

Additional planned content for the 50th anniversary includes a feature film titled Saturday Night, a documentary curated by Questlove, focusing on the program’s musical legacy, and much more.
