Scowl Reveals New Album Title, Are We All Angels, Coming This April.

Frown Announces New Album Release

Frown announced that their new album “We Are All Angels” is set to be released by Dead Oceans on April 4th.

Production Details and Lead Single

Produced by Will Yip (known for his work with Turnstile and Mannequin Pussy) and mixed by Rich Costey, the Santa Cruz hardcore band’s latest effort marks their debut release under the label. They also unveiled the lead single from the album titled “Not Hell, Not Heaven”, accompanied by a video directed by Sean Stout at 924 Gilman in Berkeley.

Vocalist’s Insights on the New Track

Discussing the new track, vocalist Kat Moss shares: “It’s about feeling like a victim and being a victim but not wanting to identify with a victim. I try to find grace in the fact that I have power. I live in my reality. You have to deal with everything you encounter, and that doesn’t work for me.”

The album sees the band exploring new sonic territories while holding onto their hardcore roots. “Most of us weren’t experienced musicians when this band started,” Moss reflects. “In that sense, it was very Germs-esque, like a kid’s first hardcore band, and that’s awesome. But now, while we may still not know what we’re doing, we have a better idea of what we want to do.”
