Sarah Michelle Gellar’s Day Off for Swift
Sarah Michelle Gellar has revealed that she once asked for a day off from work so she could attend Taylor Swift’s “Eras” tour.
Promotion for Dexter
The actress is currently promoting Dexter prequel series Dexter: Original Sin along with her co-star Christian Slater.
During the interview on The Drew Barrymore Show, she mentioned that she was in Miami in October to see one of Swift’s “Eras” shows and described the performance as “incredible.”
She added that to get the chance to go, she repeatedly requested a break from filming. “He knew that was the only thing I cared about at work,” she stated, referring to Slater. “I’m like, I just need to take Friday off.” She informed Barrymore that the show questioned whether she truly needed a day off to take care of her children.
“Well, I’m going to Miami to see the Eras Tour,” she recalled explaining. “I saw it in Los Angeles, but she wasn’t in The Tortured Poets Department.” So, I wanted to go see The Tortured Poets, and I got to see Florence Welch.”
Welch joined Swift on stage for a duet of their collaboration “Florida!!!” and Florence + The Machine joined her for the second verse of “The Tortured Poets Department.”
Gellar previously attended Swift’s reception in August 2023, ahead of the release of Department of Tortured Poets. She shared a post on Instagram, writing: “Officially in my Eras” while showcasing her friendship bracelets from the tour.
