According to Official Charts, the North Shields native is rapidly advancing towards his first official number one album this week with his recently released third album. Released on February 21, “People Who Look” has already achieved the highest first-week sales of 2025 in just three days.
Record-Breaking First Week
Currently, Fender is influencing the remaining spots in the top 10 with the album, accumulating 80,000 units sold already. It is anticipated that “People Who Look” will join his debut “Hypersonic Missiles” from 2019 and “Seventeen” from 2021 as a long-lasting LP.
If Fender surpasses 100,000 units sold in his first week, he will become the first British solo artist to achieve this since Harry Styles did in 2022 with “Harry’s House”.
In a glowing four-star review, NME described “People Who Look” as “reflective and insightful indie rock from the shining star of Northern Shields.”
“Feeling existentially torn and disconnected from his working-class roots due to his rapid rise to fame, the British guitar hero channels all this in his magnificent third album,” they added.
Other contenders in the top 10 vying for the number one position include Tate McRae with “So Close to What”, Sabrina Carpenter with “Short N”, and PartyNextDoor with “Some Sexual Songs 4 U” among others.
