Sam Fender Reveals New Songs in Preparation for Upcoming Album Following “People Look”

New Material In Progress

Sam Fender revealed that he is already working on new material, even as he prepares for the release of his third album “People Watch”, scheduled for tomorrow.

Collaboration With Adam Granduciel

During an interview on Apple Music 1’s The Zane Lowe Show, Fender spoke about his collaboration with Adam Granduciel of The War on Drugs on “People Watch”. The album has previously been previewed with four tracks: “Remember My Name”, “The Length of the Arm”, “Wild Long Lie”, and the title track.

“It was an honor. I mean, he was one of my biggest heroes,” Fender said, reflecting on his work with Granduciel. “The first time I heard ‘Lost in a Dream’, it was such an impactful record for me, especially since I was in the hospital at the time. Throughout my recovery, it was the only album I truly listened to. His music means a lot to me. I thought, ‘I would love to work with him,’ but I knew he had never produced outside of The War on Drugs.”

“We have a saying in the North-East, ‘Shy kids get nothing,’ which means shy people miss out. So I thought, ‘I just have to reach out to him and see if he would be interested.’ I asked my label, got his contact, and called him. I said, ‘Listen, I’d really like you to work on this.’ We found we shared similar musical tastes, from Tom Petty to The Replacements, Springsteen, Dylan, and so many others.”

“Things moved quickly after that, and that’s always a good sign for me. When everything flows smoothly, you know it’s meant to happen. Once we finished, it felt like I wiped a hard drive in my head, and now I’m ready to create again. Honestly, I already have a lot of new songs.”
