Upcoming Events in 2025

Set to debut in 2025, the BBC musical series will now host the Dark Till Dawn Prom, to be held at the historic Royal Albert Hall in London at the end of this year.

Plans for this new event were outlined in the program announcing the summer festival. It has been confirmed that the rock musician Saint-Vincent will be featured on the bill for 2025, alongside the Pakistan-American singer Aruja, a Grammy Angelica Prize winner, and one-handed pianist Nikolai Maccarta. Saint-Vincent is scheduled to perform for the first time as part of the series on September 3, along with Jules Bacley and his orchestra.

Other confirmed artists for 2025 include the Korean sensation Yunyunchan Lim, performing Rachmaninov No. 4 on piano, soprano Aigul Ahmetshin, violinist Randall Gusby, and the virtuoso sitar player.

Sir Simon Etftthat will conduct Chineke! (the first Black and ethnically diverse orchestra in Europe) for a performance of the final work by the Pulitzer Prize-winning American composer George Walker. Additionally, there are plans to celebrate the film composer Bernard Herrmann, with Claudia Winklman hosting a show that highlights the tense soundtrack from the popular BBC show Traitors.

A total of 86 concerts will take place throughout London, including Gated, Bristol, Bradford, Belfast, Sunderland, and several other locations. A night event will occur on August 8, organized by organist Anna Lakwood.

“I spend a lot of time in the Albert Hall late at night, practicing, and I believe the building is still just as alive overnight,” she told the BBC. “There are always people—cleaners and guards—it’s a bit like night at the museum.”

“So, we discussed how fun it would be to invite people into this space, both physically and as an abstract space in this iconic building during the night.”

This year marks the first graduation evenings since the departure of David Picard. Taking his place for 2025 is Hannah Donat (director of arts planning), who has worked with Sam Jackson (controller of BBC Radio 3).

Tickets for the summer graduation evenings of 2025 will go on sale on May 17 at 8 AM. Visit here for tickets and additional information.

As for Saint-Vincent, the singer has recently been confirmed to perform on Woodsi’s stage at Glastonbury in June this year.

Last summer, NME caught St. Vincent’s show at the London Royal Albert Hall, which received a four-star review: “During the 90-minute set, Clark wields her guitar like a weapon and attacks the microphone with restless urgency.”

“Large cathartic crescendos teeter on the brink of chaos, yet Clark and her four-piece band never allow things to fall apart. It’s exhilarating to witness, but it also demands participation—it’s charged with music that won’t let you sit idly by.”

In another four-star review, this time for her latest album, “All Born Screaming,” NME remarked: “The album’s front half shatters and rebuilds—plunging into the abyss—while conveying painful imagery reflective of a time when she was besieged by loss (true to her Mercury Prize-nominated status, she refrained from elaborating on specifics). Then something strange occurs: the Bong theme melds unexpectedly, urging her to enter the “secret door.”
