Ryan Adams Takes the Stage in Belfast: “I Won’t Be Back Until the Flashing Stops”

Ryan Adams Stages Chaos in Belfast

Ryan Adams abruptly left the stage during his performance in Belfast, which fans described as “chaos.”

The singer-songwriter performed at the city embankment on Saturday (April 5) to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his debut solo album “Heartbreaker.”

Belfast telegraph reported that, midway through the set, Adams walked off the stage, saying, “Stop fucking.”

Audience Disruption and Interaction

Throughout the venue, signs were displayed to warn fans against using flash photography, yet it appeared that some attendees did not heed the warnings, despite multiple requests from the artist.

Adams returned almost half an hour later, addressing the 1,400-strong audience and revealing that he had experienced an “epileptic attack.”

Moreover, it was not the only instance of erratic behavior during the show. Adams handed one fan a copy of his forthcoming novel The Greatest Film, When -lib and requested that a problematic audience member be brought to the front so he could “follow him.”

There were reports of Adams engaging intensely with the crowd throughout his set, including handing a signed copy of an email request for a birthday shout-out to a woman in the audience.

Fan Reactions and Allegations

Several audience members took to social media after the show to share their thoughts. One wrote, “It’s hard to understand where to start with today’s show Ryan Adams on the embankment. But a person really needs help. It’s sad to see how someone so talented loses it before your eyes.”

Other reactions included comments on the overall experience, with some expressing disappointment and frustration over the performance.

In 2019, Adams faced accusations from multiple women, including his ex-wife Mandy Moore, regarding emotional abuse and manipulative behavior, alongside allegations of sexual misconduct.

The FBI investigation concluded without charges, and Adams later expressed remorse for his “harmful behavior,” seeking a “second chance” in music. Moore remarked on the curious nature of his public apologies lacking personal apologies to those affected: “I speak for myself, but I have not heard from him.”

Adams reflected on his situation, stating, “I am losing my life, my dreams, and have no emotional support to help fix it. The door has slammed shut; now what am I supposed to do?”
