“True Electric” is set to be released on April 11th and is available for pre-order. Here – this will mark the electronic duo’s first release in 2025. The album includes 19 studio tracks recorded during their 2023 “True Electric” tour and features the previously unreleased track “The R,” alongside newly remastered and remixed tracks from their extensive catalogue.
First single and music video
The initial preview of the album came with the song “What Else Is There” featuring Fever Ray. This intense and driving track is a new rendition of the 2005 song of the same title from the album The Doesn't.
The song’s accompanying video, directed by Stian Andersen, was filmed on location and includes footage from the 2023 concert in Athens, Greece.
Discussing the album in a press release, Röyksopp, comprising Svein Berge and Thorbjörn Brundtland, stated: “'True Electric' embodies recordings and performances crafted to encapsulate the essence of our live concerts of the same name. The intent was to highlight the club elements of our music, while also revisiting our electronic music roots.”
