Reaction to the Summit

On Friday (February 28), the U.S. president and his Ukrainian counterpart held a press conference at the White House, which devolved into a heated exchange. Trump claimed that Zelensky was “not ready for the world” and was “gambling with the Third World War.”

Since the meeting, figures like Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron have expressed strong support for Zelensky, culminating in a gathering of European leaders in London on March 2 to discuss how to assist Ukraine moving forward.

Entertainment Community Support

On Friday, the entertainment world reacted to the tense scenes, with Jack White calling Zelensky “a very courageous person who deserves the support for peace. He has taken on the struggle of his people and his country with valor and honor.”

White further stated: “His legacy will surpass all these other false leaders and evil opportunists. He will be remembered as a hero and defender of his people’s freedom against overwhelming opposition. May God bless his path forward and his possible victory over tyranny.”

The Ukrainian pop-rock band Antytila spoke to NME from the front lines in 2022, expressing their hope that their music would serve as a beacon of support for those entrenched in the conflict. Frontman Taras Topolia noted: “We are not only here for entertainment; we aim to convey something significant through our music. We strive to show people a glimmer of hope, even during trying times.”
