Williams and film director Michael Gracie (The Greatest Showman) spoke to NME about the biopic set to be released on Boxing Day. Notably, Williams is portrayed by a CGI monkey, voiced by actor Jonno Davis.

Both Gallagher brothers play a role in the film’s narrative, though Liam features more prominently than Noel. Williams describes the film as a “reflection” of who he and Oasis were back in the day, albeit with some of the “edges” smoothed out.

Previously, Williams mentioned that partying with Oasis at Glastonbury in 1995 was “the start of his new life” post-Take That. While their relationship became strained over time, they seemingly reconciled in 2020 when Liam reached out, sending “love and light to your family” after Williams’ father was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Williams humorously remarked that he needed to “find someone new to be upset with” after their reconciliation.

However, in 2022, Williams characterized them as “bullies” during their peak, a claim Liam denied. “I have never bullied anyone in my life. I certainly get very angry and maybe sometimes I go too far, but if I ever hurt anyone’s feelings, I apologize,” he remarked.

Liam humorously suggested that he could perform at Knebworth again if he matched his ticket prices with Liam’s, pricing his solo concert tickets at £65. “Can I just apologize for saying ‘cheap’ – if you write this, can you say I’m sorry; I was irritable,” he said, before adding: “(Knebworth) is not on my radar. But Glastonbury – I’d love to do that.”

Now, Williams has expressed his expectations regarding the Gallaghers’ reactions. “I think there’s going to be a part of him that’s going to be happy that he exists in this movie,” he shared. “Did you send him the script, Michael?”

“I don’t think Liam read it (but) there’s nothing in there that isn’t common knowledge,” Gracie replied.

In a light-hearted response, Williams joked: “Uh oh! There is nothing there that is not 100 percent true! That’s how he behaved! That’s the kind of person he was! And in court, all this will fall into place!

Continuing in a more serious tone, he stated, “I don’t know, man. The people we were are very different from who we are now. I see Liam and I love his interviews; I love the person he’s becoming. Now he’s kind, introspective, and still surprisingly funny – but the edge is gone. I have the same thing: the edges are torn off. So in the film, he is the personification of who he was then, and I am the personification of who he was then. I don’t want him to be upset. I hope he likes it. The guy who plays Noel only has one line, but that line is so incredible: “Fuck off, cunt!”

Williams also shared his thoughts on Oasis’s recent reunion. “The soap opera itself will either be exciting or disgusting to watch,” he commented in September. “As for the show? They will be incredible, beyond special,” calling it “a moment of healing for our country.”

He added, “Liam Gallagher reading his phone on the toilet would be more charismatic and intriguing than 99.9% of the world’s population at their most mysterious. All he has to do is stand there and sing for the crowd to ensure they get their money’s worth,” followed by a jab at his brother: “Noel will be there too.”

Williams came to the Gallaghers’ defense amid controversy surrounding Ticketmaster’s use of dynamic pricing for their tour dates.

“I’ve never sat there wondering, ‘How much do we cost for tickets?’ So I don’t believe Oasis did it either,” Williams stated. Face.

“I don’t believe Oasis knew. Liam definitely didn’t know, ‘That’s how much the tickets will cost. We’re going to do what’s called dynamic pricing.’ I only know about dynamic pricing because of Oasis.”

In a three-star review, Best Male, NME remarked: “Best Man starts out like a John Lewis advert and turns into an R-rated mishmash that somehow does too much while barely touching the career of Robbie Williams. It’s the Rudebox of a movie: some good, some very bad, and all a bit of a mess. However, a musical with monkeys is a big step that no one else would take. You can’t fault arrogance or ambition. If he returns the stated budget, we will eat $110 million worth of bananas.”
