Ringo Starr Reveals He’s Never Tasted Pizza or Curry Due to Multiple Allergies

Ringo Starr’s Surprising Revelation

Ringo Starr made an astonishing revelation during his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!: He has never eaten pizza or curry.

Promoting His New Album

On January 29, Starr appeared on the current show to promote his new album, Look Up, a country record created with T-Bone Burnett.

During the interview, Kimmel took a moment to ask Starr about popular rumors surrounding him—one being that he has never had pizza, which he confirmed, much to the audience’s surprise. “Or curry,” he added, eliciting loud gasps from the crowd.

He explained that he has “allergies to several things” and with dishes like pizza and curry: “You don’t know what the hell is in it.” The risk of trying any new dish is too high for him: “I am strict with my diet; it immediately makes me ill.”

“I used to think you had the biggest life, and now I realize mine was better,” Kimmel stated, to which Ringo agreed, saying, “You have a better life because you had pizza.”

Concert and Philanthropy

To celebrate the release of Look Up, Starr performed a concert in Nashville, which will be featured in the upcoming concert film Ringo & Friends at the Ryman, set to release on Paramount+ in the spring. He was joined by musician friends like Jack White, Alison Krauss, and Emmylou Harris, among other artists.

Starr performed songs from Look Up along with his solo hits and Beatles classics through a country lens. Proceeds from the concert will go to the American Red Cross to aid those affected by the Los Angeles wildfires.

In a separate discussion, Starr recently mentioned that he has no interest in being a solo artist, as he “only wants to be in a group.”

He also recounted an incident where he and Sir Elton John left a concert of a legendary rock star because they didn’t recognize any of the songs being played.
