Reminder: Sports and Protein Flowers Have Joined the Profitable Compilation for the TRANS YOUT Emergency Project

New Compilation Album: True Names

A team of artists, including Remember that Sport, Protein Flower, 2nd Class, 22 ° Halo, and Pink Navel have collaborated on a new compilation album titled “True Names.” This initiative supports the Emergency Situations project.

Overview of the Compilation

Released by New Yorking Bead Bead Records, the compilation features unreleased B-sides, demos, and live notes from musical communities across Boston, New York, Philadelphia, and beyond.

The title “True Names” was inspired by Ursula K. Le Guin’s Earth series, according to Matt O’Connor of Bead Records.

“States across the country are targeting trans youth, restricting their access to essential care. This compilation aims to raise funds for a trans-youth emergency project, which assists families in finding medical providers, traveling to appointments, and covering medication costs,” O’Connor stated.

The Port Emergency Situations Project outlines its mission: “Harsh laws prohibiting best practices in gender confirmation have been enacted in 25 states, forcing thousands of transgender youth and their families to travel great distances and incur significant expenses to obtain necessary care. Emergency grants assist families of trans youth in seeking help outside their state.”

The compilation will be available starting May 5 through BEAD WORTING records, with a digital pre-order available on April 23 via Bandcamp. The launch of the pre-order will coincide with the release of the lead single “REWARD” by 22 ° Halo.
