Range Music Introduces New Composers Unit
Range Music has launched a unique unit focused on composers for cinema and television music, with Jernigan, the former executive director of Kraft-Engel Management, being the first hire.
In his new position, Jernigan will collaborate closely with Range Music Vice President of Creative Sync and Strategy, Leah Prepare, to represent musical composers, songwriters, musical directors, and executive musical producers.
Jernigan comes with a notable roster of clients, which includes Oscar-winning composer Stephen Price (Gravity), Emmy-nominated composer and songwriter Volume Hou (Ted Lasso), Rafferti (Substance), Emmy-nominated music supervisor Amanda Krieg Thomas (Halston), Brandon Roberts (Andor), Joseph Stevens (Righteous Gemstones), Catastrophe (It Follows), Tony-nominated composer Helen Park (Kpop), and Grammy-winning musical director Stephen Gizitsky (Maestro).
Building Strong Music Leadership
Jernigan’s client, Stephen Gizitski, served as a music leader for James Mangold‘s Bean Dylan biographical film Full Unknown and Damien Chazelle‘s La La Land, both produced with music by Fred Berger.
Previously, Jernigan worked at BMG Music Publishing and Askap before joining Kraft-Engel Management, where he collaborated earlier with Berger and Brian Kavano-Jones on film and production efforts at Range Music.
“This is natural for us, as we expand and develop our business in musical representation while considering our deep commitment to storytelling.”

Another client of Jernigan, Stephen Price, also composed the music for Los Frikis, a project from Range clients Tyler Nilson and Michael Schwartz.
The creation of this new unit of composers aims to enhance Range Music’s offerings in music for film and television. The company currently represents music leaders, including Andrea von Forester (Yellowstone, Longman), Jordan Carroll (Dear Evan Hansen, Best Person), Alison Moses, Kyla Coin (Ginny and Georgia, Idiot), and Angela Asistio (INFERING Chinatown, Val).
“We couldn’t be more excited about the launch of this new expert initiative at Range Music,” said Berger and managing partner Matt Graham.
“This is a natural progression for us, as we expand our musical representation business while honoring our deep commitment to storytelling. As our first hire in this division, Jeff brings extensive experience and knowledge, and we are thrilled to combine our strengths,” they added.
“This is an incredible time for music in the media, and Range is an ideal home for these creators.”

Jernigan expressed his enthusiasm, stating: “This is an incredible time for music in the media, and Range is an ideal environment for these creators. I am excited to create a remarkable representative business with an unprecedented flow of information and opportunities that this company and team provide.”
Range Music, a unit of Range Media Partners, currently represents artists such as Jack Harlow, Shabuzi, Noah Cyrus, PartynextDoor, Pentatonix, Saweetie, Rita Ora, Midland, Lauv, Dylan Gossett, Max, Stephen Wilson Jr., Sean Douglas, Vondagurl, and Russell Dilexon.
The composer unit comes about a year and a half after the launch of Range Media’s Music Publishing unit.
Last year, Range Media Partners secured minority investments from a group of investors, including Liberty Global and family office TPG Chairman David Bonderman.
This development follows reports that Google has quietly launched the 100 Zeros initiative for film and television production, which will provide content for traditional studios and streaming services like Netflix. The 100 Zeros initiative is part of a longstanding partnership with Range Media Partners.
