Event Announcement Details

Last night (February 13), the Josh Homme-led band shared a photograph of Eclall Road in the steel city. It featured a poster for the Sheffield Rock N Roll Circus, scheduled to take place at the Don Valley Bowl in August this year.

The name of the upcoming event is prominently displayed above the title of the 2002 classic “No Bear Knoke,” intertwined with a red snake graphic. Below, it notes: “Sheffield. The announcement will come on February 17.” The Rock N Roll Circus website is also mentioned.

A accompanying QR code directs fans to a page where they can “subscribe for upcoming news” regarding the festival. According to Tizer’s advertisement, further details are expected to be revealed on Monday.

Lineup and Future Plans

The Sheffield leg of The Rock N Roll Circus has already announced local favorites Referend & The Makers for 2025, along with Pete Doherty and Carl Barât, Groove Armada (DJ Set), and more for its 20-year celebration.

The organizers have promised that additional names will be confirmed in the coming weeks. Find tickets here.

Last year’s Rock N Roll Circus in Sheffield featured performances by Richard Hawley, Becky Hill, and Milburn.

A potential performance by the Queens of the Stone Age could coincide with their slot at the victorious festival of 2025. The band is set to embark on a European tour this summer, participating in various festivals such as Eya and Electric Castle.

In July last year, QTSA had to cancel some shows in Europe due to frontman Homme needing an “emergency operation.” He returned to the stage in December for a tribute concert to Mark Lanegan in London.

The first Queens show is currently scheduled for June 10 in Boston, Massachusetts. They will also perform at Bonnaroo 2025 in Manchester, Tennessee that same month.

The band released their eighth and latest studio album “In Times New Roman” in 2023. In a four-star review, NME stated: “They conveyed their return as an emotional exorcism for Homme, while also providing enough for fans; This album stands out as their darkest, newest material today and will be appreciated even more for it.”

Last summer, Homme committed to “rolling up the sleeves” so fans wouldn’t have to wait long for new music. A six-year gap existed between “Villains” and “In Times New Roman.”

As of the end of 2023, Homme and the band’s member Dean Fertita shared insights with NME regarding the band, their personal challenges, and future plans.

“I think we have to do something,” Homme explained, reflecting on the six months since their last LP QTSA. “The mantra of the last five years has been: ‘It won’t be long!’ This should relate to actions too. Of course, I believe we should do more, faster, better, and more often.”
