Catch Point’s Current Endeavors
Catch Point specializes in acquiring rights and royalties from songwriters, artists, producers, record labels, music publishers, and other royalty stream owners associated with music.
The Catch Point portfolio consists of interests in thousands of sound recordings and musical works, featuring hundreds of songs recorded by artists such as The Smashing Pumpkins, Chaka Demus & Pliers, Black Eyed Peas, Nine Inch Nails, The Killers, Daddy Yankee, Tiesto, Lil Wayne, and many more.
In November 2024, it was reported that Catch Point sold its catalog of musical rights and royalty streams to Goldstate Partners, founded by music industry veteran Charles Goldshtok.
The catalog sold by Catch Point included rights to well-known tracks like Kanye West‘s Flashing Lights, Sheryl Crow‘s If It Makes You Happy, and Panic! At The Disco‘s I Write Sins Not Tragedies.
Despite this transaction, Catch Point retains ownership of a valuable catalog of assets after the Goldstate sale and continues to explore acquisition opportunities in music.
In total, Goldstate spent 200 million dollars on a series of transactions, including the acquisition of Catch Point and the purchase of the catalog from Songs Amr.
Catch Point was founded in 2020 by former Wall Street executive Rich Contalon, along with Patrick Riordan and business manager PJ Miklus.
