Phoebe Green’s New EP Announcement
Phoebe Green has unveiled her upcoming EP “Container”, set to be released on March 21, accompanied by a new single titled 'What are you doing'.
Insights on the EP
The five-track EP was both written and produced by the Manchester artist in her family home located in Lytham St Annes.
“I think these songs reflect my position in terms of taste, ability, and emotional state. It was so great to return to writing in my bedroom, expressing myself out of a pure need to document my growth and allow others to do the same,” Green shares.
The new single “What Are You Doing” comes after the previous release “Precious Things.” Discussing the track, Green notes: “What Are You Doing navigates the mourning of a somewhat toxic relationship, recalling its destructiveness while acknowledging the excitement and total immersion it offered me at the time. Looking back, it’s hard not to be curious about this man’s life, how he lives day-to-day, and whether I still hold a place in his memories.”
Teaming up with producer and mixer Rick Levy to finalize the EP, Green adds: “I’ve been influenced by artists like Imogen Heap, St. Vincent, Caroline Rose, and of course Charli XCX and Chappell Roan. Nonetheless, I don’t feel I’ve drawn heavily from any one source. I used to shy away from crafting big pop choruses, but I loved experimenting with them in this new EP.”
