This week, Pearl Jam shared the stage in Nashville with Peter Frampton for a performance of “Black” – check out the photos below.
Upcoming concerts
Currently, the Seattle band is in the midst of their world tour “Dark Matter,” which brought them to the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Thursday evening (May 8).
At the start of their extensive set list, which featured 25 songs, Eddie Vedder took a moment to honor the iconic guitarist Frampton, mentioning that he has been a long-time favorite of the band. “This gentleman was one of the first guitar heroes we looked up to,” he shared with the audience. “Before the Ramones, other guitar legends like Jimmy Page and Pete Townshend, he was there. This is one reason why we cherished Live Records.”
Memorable performances
“Eventually, we chose to embrace the influences he brought to our music. He is truly an incredible figure in rock.”
The band performed the Grunge Ballad “Black” from their classic 1991 debut album “Ten,” with Frampton contributing several notable guitar riffs, and the band integrated a riff from his 1973 track “Do You Feel Like We Do.” Take a look at moments captured with fans:

Pearl Jam has four remaining dates on their “Dark Matter” tour, including two nights in Toronto (May 11 and 13) and two in Pittsburgh (May 16 and 18).
In NME, Liberty Dunworth reviewed “Dark Matter,” stating: “For those who long for the charismatic songwriting that originally put the band on the map over three decades ago, ‘Dark Matter’ will certainly be a delightful surprise.”
“Not only does it showcase Pearl Jam’s return to the charm that made them a force back in 1991, but also highlights their impressive musicality and willingness to take risks after many years of playing it safe.”
Meanwhile, Frampton was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year alongside legends such as Ozzy Osbourne, Cher, Mary J. Blige, A Tribe Called Quest, and the Dave Matthews Band, taking over the honor from Roger Daltrey.
