Noel Gallagher Cheers for Kendrick Lamar at the Super Bowl

Kendrick Lamar’s Historic Super Cup Performance

Noel Gallagher launched the performance of Kendrick Lamar in a Super Cup and called him “Absolute Napsu”.

Last Sunday (February 9), rapper Comton went down in history, becoming the first solo rapper to treat the coveted break. Sza joined him and showed cameras from Samuel L. Jackson and Serena Williams.

He completed many tracks from his last “GNX” sentence, including some cuts from “damn”. Two tracks from Drake’s “euphoria” and the famous Grammy winner “is not like us” also featured. Lamar’s Super Cup performance became the most popular in the event’s history, attracting a whopping 133.5 million viewers from 8:30-8:45 PM Eastern Time.

Noel Gallagher’s Reaction

During an appearance on TalkSport (February 11), Gallagher was asked about his views on Lamar’s performance. Speaking with hosts Andy Goldstein and Darren Bent, Gallagher shared: “I had to turn it off. It was absolute nonsense.”

When asked specifically what he disliked about Lamar’s performance, the singer remarked, “I don’t look back; I didn’t see all this, I just changed it. In the first two minutes, there were about 300 people leaving the car.”

He continued: “But no, I do not like nonsense during the break; these are usually artists that I do not like.” When quizzed about his favorite past performances at the Super Cup, Gallagher admitted: “I never look at it, I am not interested in it.”

Mixed Reactions and Critiques

Gallagher also expressed his concerns about the intersection of music and sports, stating: “The Americans occupy our sport; they capture the prime minister, they will take over the Champions League. Believe me, in 20 years, all this will be nonsense.”

Lamar’s performance received a mixed reaction from fans and spectators. Some hailed it as a “masterpiece,” while others branded it “the worst performance of the Super Cup over the past decade.”

NME ranked Kendrick’s performance as the third best in Super Cup history, following Michael Jackson’s iconic 1993 show in second place and Prince’s 2007 performance in first.
