Noah Kahan and Charli XCX Support Chappell Roan: A Look at Her $25,000 Donation Amidst Challenging Artist Performances

Noah Kahan and Charlie XCX have rallied behind Chappell Roan, referencing her significant donation of 25 thousand dollars amidst the conversation about struggling artists following a recent dispute.

Chappell Roan’s Grammy Win and Industry Demands

Last Sunday (February 2), the former NME Cover Star celebrated her first Grammy win at this year’s ceremony. Acknowledging her achievement as the best new artist, she called out the music industry, insisting that labels should provide millions of dollars to artists and offer fair salaries and healthcare, particularly to emerging talents.

Jeffrey Rabhan, a long-serving music director and former chair of the Klava Davis Institute at New York University, responded to her comments in an article for Hollywood Reporter, labeling her Grammy speech as “erroneous” and “ignorant” in an op-ed piece.

In response, Halsey defended Roan from what she termed a “personal attack,” taking to her Instagram stories to criticize this behavior as “obstruction of boots.” She encouraged Roan with a supportive message, sharing a screenshot of Rabhan’s article where he claimed that the pop star was no longer a “struggling artist” and should focus on her financial inconsistencies.

“(Rabhan), do you want to compare my 25 thousand dollars to the sacrifices of struggling artists?” Roan questioned. “My PR is @biz3publicity. Let’s talk.” As of this writing, Jeffrey Rabhan has yet to respond to Roan.

Following this, Noah Kahan joined the support for Roan, posting on Instagram today (February 9) that he would match her donation. “Hey, @chappellroan – I’m going to match your 25 thousand to support artist healthcare access,” he stated.

“I’m inspired by you. Happy to help get the ball rolling.” He emphasized his commitment with a playful comment, stating: “Money is where my mouth is!” Kahan, who has a fan base that enjoys his playful side, joked last year at a festival saying, “I can be a headliner, but I’m really here for Chappell Roan.”

Similarly, pop singer Charli XCX is set to headline Primavera Sound alongside Sabrina Carpenter later this year, and she has labeled this collaboration as the “holy trinity” of pop. Beyond her vocal support for Roan, she reportedly was one of the first to reach out to Roan about the pressures of fame.

Inspired by Kahan’s gesture, she also expressed her support on Instagram today. “Hey, @chappellroan, I’m going to match your donation of $25,000 to support artist healthcare access,” she wrote. “I saw @noahkahanmusic said he would do the same, so I thought I’d follow suit. Your Grammy speech was inspiring, thoughtful, and came from a genuine place of care. Happy to help get the ball rolling. Money is where my mouth is.”

In other news, Roan also expressed her support for the TRANSGENDER community during Grammy 2025. “Trans joy has always existed, and it will always exist,” she stated on the red carpet. “Regardless of what happens, we must protect trans joy above all, as I would not be here without trans individuals.”
