Wombats are set to host a special listening party for their album at the Sea Life London Aquarium on February 8, ahead of the release of their sixth studio album 'Oh! Ocean ' on February 14.
Event Details
The event will take place in the Attraction’s Open Ocean zone and will feature live Q&A sessions where the band will discuss the creation of the album. Attendees will enjoy a listening experience surrounded by green sea turtles, dolphins, and zebra sharks.
Inspiration Behind the Album
“It is an honor to welcome Wombats to our attraction for this exciting album listening party – at Sea Life, we understand better than anyone how inspiring the ocean can be. We hope that this new album sparks fans’ curiosity about the diverse and incredible creatures that inhabit our oceans, as well as how we can contribute to their protection,” said Katherine Prechard, General Director at Sea Life London Aquarium.
The album, recorded in Echo Park, Los Angeles, was produced by John Congleton and was crafted from a selection of 50 new songs. The title was inspired by a significant moment during a feast for the Murf frontman.
“I have spent time on numerous beaches, in seas, and along coastlines over the years, but for some reason, this experience felt entirely new to me,” Merf shares. “It was a revelation that I was either living in my head or caught up in some race. It was truly a powerful moment. I felt like I was seeing everything for the first time and realized how self-absorbed I had been, not appreciating the astonishing world and life around me.”
