Last month, the band released “Rushmere,” the lead track from their upcoming album of the same name. This will be their first LP in seven years, set to drop on March 28 through Island/Glassnote, following 2018’s Delta. Pre-order here.

Rushmere will mark the first album from Mumford & Sons as a trio, featuring lead vocalist Marcus Mumford, Ted Dwane, and Ben Lovett. Banjoist Winston Marshall departed the band in 2021 due to backlash for praising right-wing American journalist Andy Ngo’s book.

The album, created by Grammy-winning artist Mumford & Sons, was born after an intense creative period for the trio, recorded in RCA Studio A in Nashville and the UK in Marcus’s studio in Devon.

Other tracks expected on the album include “Malibu”, “Monochrome”, “Truth”, and “Blood on the Page”, the last featuring Californian singer-songwriter Madison Cunningham. Their 2024 collaboration with Farrell, “Good People”, will not feature in the album’s tracklist.

Discussing the anticipation for the new material in an early 2024 interview, Lovett stated, “It’s just so cool that you will share new music again after all these years.”

Mumford added, “We always felt that we knew we were going to release a bit more music, but we wanted to wait for the right music. We’ve never been in a hurry, but when this music came into our hands, we felt the urgency.”

The trio mentioned they had plenty of songs, and expressed their excitement.

In another announcement, Mumford & Sons will be joining prominent artists like David Byrne, Jack White, Chris Martin, and Lady Gaga to celebrate 50 years of Saturday Night Live during the SNL: Homecoming concert at Radio City Music Hall, New York.
