Rushmera Album Celebration

Last week (March 20), Mumford & Sons kicked off their series of four intimate club shows in the USA to celebrate the release of their new album, “Rushmera.” The event took place at the Hollywood Palladium, where Marcus Mumford and the band were joined by several special guests, including Daes and Madison Cunningham.

The Dawn joined the group to perform “Caroline,” while Cunningham collaborated with Mumford & Sons on “Blood on the Page.” Both artists also covered new songs from Kansas City basements with the band.

Earlier in the set, Mumford & Sons featured Office and Hangover star Ed Helms, who joined in for “Waking Up My Soul.” Helms played the banjo and provided backing vocals during the performance after Marcus Mumford introduced him to the audience: “Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Mr. Ed Helms to the stage.”

‘Rushmera’ will be their first LP in seven years and is set to be released on March 28 via Island/Glassnote, following the 2018 album “Delta” (pre-order it here).

“Rushmera” also marks the first Mumford & Sons album as a trio, featuring Mumford, Ted Dwan, and Ben Lovett. Banjoist Winston Marshall left the group in 2021 after facing backlash for his praise of the right-wing American journalist Andy Ngo.

In a three-star review of Mumford & Sons’ 2018 album “Delta,” Jordan Bassett wrote for NME: “A decade after they began their quest to become the most popular group in the world, Mumford & Sons is still exploring uncharted territory. The lyrics reflect a maturity, and the combination of this introspective approach suggests that Mumford & Sons continue to evolve.”
