Tommy Lee’s Shower Habits Revealed

Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee isn’t keen on regular showering, as shared by his wife.

The drummer’s wife, Brittany Furlan, provided insights during a recent episode of The Kaitlyn Bristowe Show’s podcast, From the Vine. Discussing her husband’s hygiene, Furlan remarked, “My husband is very neat, which is something people don’t expect from a musician. They expect him to be a fucking nightmare, right? Kind of dirty… I mean, he doesn’t shower often, but he’s very neat. He doesn’t make a mess.”

European Showering Norms

Podcast host Kaitlyn Bristowe delved deeper into the topic, prompting Furlan to elaborate, “He doesn’t really like to shower… Although I feel like it’s European because Europeans… My husband was born in Greece. He was born in Athens, and his mother was Miss Greece, so beautiful. And he said that when he was growing up, his mother said that in Europe, this is accepted. You don’t need to shower every day. They simply wiped themselves with a white rag if they felt a little uncomfortable. But shower, my husband showers about once a week.”

Furlan further clarified that she showers “every night” and washes her hair weekly: “But that’s the thing, I’m too clean. And I cleanse my body of all the oils and things that it might need.”

She also mentioned that she’s fine with her husband’s hygiene habits: “He’s so handsome. It’s really crazy. He’s a really handsome guy. He doesn’t really piss me off.”

Relationship Timeline and History

Lee and Furlan, a comedian and former viral Vine star, began dating publicly in September 2017 and got engaged the following February. They tied the knot on Valentine’s Day in 2019, marking their fourth marriage.

Tommy Lee’s take on cleanliness isn’t the first instance among Mötley Crüe members avoiding showers. In 2008, John Holmes, in his book Rock Star Babylon, recounted that Lee and Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx once had a contest to see who could avoid showering and cleaning the longest while still being able to attract fans.

According to Holmes, as reported by Page Six, they managed to go “two months” without showering before a fan ultimately vomited on Sixx during intercourse.

In May, a judge temporarily dismissed a lawsuit against Tommy Lee, where a woman alleged she was sexually assaulted in a helicopter. The woman was given 20 days to submit an amended complaint. In a lawsuit from last December, she claimed Lee assaulted her in 2003, luring her into his personal helicopter “under false pretenses.” Lee has denied the allegations.
