MØ Explores Themes of Self-Preservation and Complacency in New Single “Lose Yourself”

Moos Releases New Single

Moos has unveiled a new single, ‘Lose Yourself’, the final track set to be featured on her upcoming fourth album, Plæygirl.

Insight Into the Track

The song, crafted by Nick Sylvester with contributions from school X and Clementine Douglas, merges electro-disco elements with a bold twist. It comes accompanied by a backstage visualizer filmed during her recent European tour.

“Losing Yourself” speaks to self-preservation and autonomy, emphasizing the importance of letting go in healthy ways while maintaining connections. “I believe that staying connected to your community is essential for a healthy spirit,” Mo expresses. “This track serves as a reminder to embrace vulnerability, care for oneself, and nurture those we love.”

“I initially wrote this in 2022 with my long-time collaborator. Later, we revisited it with my drummer and school X,” she elaborates. “When Nick Sylvester joined to finalize the track, we drew inspiration from Joy Division as well as a local spot called Tekno in Nudebro. Ronnie Vindal contributed to the production, Mika Jasper added some fantastic elements, and Clementine Douglas helped us align the song with the right flow.”

The album “Plæygirl” was crafted between Copenhagen and Los Angeles with producer Nick Sylvester and Ronnie Windhal, following the Motordrome album. This collection of 12 tracks was developed from 2022 to 2024. “I aimed to create music that was authentic to me—music that feels liberated. I sense that I’m stepping into a new era,” she shares.
