Tour Announcement
Michael Shannon, Jason Narduchi and friends have announced an upcoming tour to celebrate the REM RICHES RICH contest.
40th Anniversary Celebration
The tour commemorates the 40th anniversary of Michael Stipe and the fourth studio album released in 1986. This follows Shannon and Narduchi’s earlier trip to celebrate the group’s legacy in 2024 and the release of *Fables of the Reconstruction* this year. The UK leg of the tour will kick off on August 19 in Manchester, making stops in Glasgow, Nottingham, Bristol, and London. Tickets can be purchased here.
Shannon also mentioned that they plan to hit the road again in 2026, though no further details have been revealed at this time.
He shared this news during an interview on *The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon*, where he sported a Monster T-shirt in homage to the 1994 album. Fallon expressed that it is his favorite album from the band, attempting to convince Shannon about the significance of their tour, to which Shannon replied, “It would be quite a few years; we would have to preserve this.”

Joining Forces Again
Shannon and Narduchi, along with drummer John Wurster, bassist Nick Macri, guitarist Dag Dagulin, and vocalist Telisa-Tyaka, will perform *Fables of the Reconstruction* in its entirety, alongside some of the band’s biggest hits, during their 2025 tour.
The tour will also see them playing at the London garage, located near Livingston Studios, where the album was originally recorded with producer Joe Boyd.
This series of live performances follows the band’s previous dates honoring Murot Rem, marking the return of the original four band members for the first time in 17 years during the tour in the United States.
In the press release, Narduchi mentioned, “After Michael and I reunited the band to perform *Murmur*, we discussed doing something together again in 2025.”

The tour will feature all four original members – Stipe, Bill Berry, Peter Buck, and Mike Mills – who were reunited in January at the 40 Watts venue in their hometown of Athens.
This reunion follows a similar event in 2024, but unlike their previous appearance where they simply attended and made a brief speech, this time the group actually performed together, delivering a surprise rendition of “Rather Belief.”
Earlier, the band surprised fans with a performance of “Losing My Religion” after they were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in June last year, shortly after their first interview as a group in 30 years on *CBS*.
This was their first performance together since 2009.
R.E.M. disbanded in 2011 after 31 years together. Bill Berry had left the group in 1997, while Stipe, Buck, and Mills continued as a trio. Berry reunited with the band for a few performances in the 00s, including a show at the Georgia Theatre in Athens in 2006.
In an interview with *CBS* last summer, R.E.M. confirmed that they will not reunite as a full-time band, stating that it wouldn’t be the same if they did so.
In other news, Shannon, along with David Krumholtz, Kevin Corrigan, and John Wurster, performed their first show as the new indie group at a venue in New York last December.
The group, named Unidentified Air Phenomenon, had their debut concert described as an “exciting musical concept” by Wurster on Instagram, which promises “impromptu #ROCKNROLLLWEIRDNESS.” He invited the audience to “swim in hypnotic impromptu grooves” provided by himself, Corrigan, and Shannon, with freestyle contributions from Krumholtz.
