Michael BublĂ© Celebrates Canada’s Vision with Donald Trump: ‘We Are the Greatest Nation on Earth and We Will Not Be Compromised!’

Michael Buble’s Passionate Speech

Michael Buble delivered an impassioned address defending Canada in light of Donald Trump’s evident intentions for the country, asserting that Canada was “not for sale.”

Celebrating Canadian Identity

Buble discussed his beloved homeland while presenting the Juno Awards, Canada’s premier music honors, on March 30.

“I am a child from my hometown who never left,” he shared. “And when I stand here and look at my artists in the English arena with millions who look like home, I feel immense pride in being Canadian,” and he added, “I take pride in how we rise above challenges.”

Buble continued: “The truth is, we love this country. Our affection drives us to stand up for it, and we always will. We are formidable, fearless, and rather than merely acknowledging our differences, we embrace them. These differences not only strengthen us; they make us far more interesting.”

“We are the north, the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic, the Great Lakes, the Rocky Mountains, and vast open spaces. People, we are unique. We are beautiful. We are the greatest nation on Earth! And we are not for sale!”

Reactions to Political Developments

Trump implemented various tariffs on Canadian exports shortly after taking office in January, raising concerns about a potential trade war between the two nations. He even suggested the possibility of annexing Canada as a new U.S. state.

This sparked significant reactions from various figures in Canadian politics and entertainment, including new Prime Minister Mark Carney.

Mike Myers also opposed the notion of Canada becoming part of the United States during a recent appearance on Saturday Night Live. He wore a shirt stating: “Canada is not for sale.”

Last year, Buble mentioned his decision to decline the role of coach on The Voice 15 times, due to feeling that “most singers are better.”

“My favorite part in this is that, thank goodness, we are not judges,” Buble remarked in an interview with Today. “Other shows have judges. We are coaches. And I say this because most of the singers are better than me, and I have no place to judge anyone.”

“To train them and live with the fantasy that I once had a career, and then get the opportunity to help anyone else achieve theirs? That’s the cool part.”
