Release Details and Early Access
The newly remastered version of the five-time platinum album by the group is set for release on June 13, 2025, through its own Blanted Label. Visit here to make a preliminary order.
Under the direction of Ruvizer Ruvim Cohen and Greg Fidelman, those who previously ordered the Deluxe Box album edition will receive early access to the new versions of the hit “Until It Sleeps.” These versions will include the aforementioned remaster, a mix by German Melville, a live recording from 1996 at Slim’s in San Francisco, and a raw vocal chorus titled Fobd.
The sixth album from Thrash Pioneers will also be available as a 180G 2XLP release, along with CD, cassette, and digital formats.
Preliminary orders of various reprinting options will grant access to different versions of songs on the track list ahead of time. For example, the 2xLP, 3XCD expanded, and Deluxe Digital Versions will showcase an expanded version of The Outlaw Torn, which was initially edited due to temporary restrictions on the CD format.

Additional special features in the limited edition box for 2025 include unreleased demos, raw mixes, live performances, and television appearances, among other items from 1995 to 1997. Learn more about the various album variations here.
Included in the box set are collectible items such as a “mother” disc featuring pictures, patches, posters, guitar picks, lyric sheets, a lavish 128-page book, and “Loadapalooza ’96”—a three-record live album recorded during Metallica’s headline show in August 1996.
The original Load album was released in the summer of 1996 and was the group’s second album to debut at the top of the charts, remaining on the Billboard 200 for four weeks.
