Matt Maltese and Others Reinterpret a Chet Baker Classic on Tribute Album

Matt Maltese joins a diverse lineup of artists for “Chet Baker Re:Imagined,” a new tribute compilation celebrating the 70th anniversary of “Chet Baker Sings.”

Connecting global artists

The project brings together fifteen artists from around the world representing various genres, including R&B, pop, soul, and jazz, to reinterpret Baker’s work. The collection features British artists Dodie, Matt Maltese, Matilda Mann, Joel Culpepper, Ezra Collective’s Ife Ogunjobi, Honen Ford, Eloise, Poppy Daniels, and Puma Blue. International contributors include Benny Sings from the Netherlands, Stacey Ryan from Canada, American artists Delaney Bailey and Mxmtoon, Sarah Kang from South Korea, and Australian-Filipino artist Grentperez.

“Chet Baker was obviously a very big influence on me growing up,” Maltese explains. “A masterful vocalist who taught me to sing tenderly and the way I want. No one should cover the song I did, but I hope it can be seen as an ode to the greatest who did it.”

“Chet Baker Re:Imagined” will be released on April 11, 2025.
