Brent Hinds Leaves Mastodon After 25 Years
Leading guitarist and singer Mastodon Brent Hinds announced that he had left the group after 25 years.

The Atlanta metal group shared the news on Instagram on Friday (March 7), indicating that the decision was mutual and that they would continue their plans as previously arranged.
“Friends and fans, after 25 monumental years together, Mastodon and Brent Hinds mutually decided to part,” they stated. “We are deeply proud and grateful for the music and the journey we shared, and we wish him only success and happiness in his future endeavors.”
“We are still very inspired and eager to perform for fans in this next chapter of Mastodon. As you move forward, all tour plans for 2025 will remain unchanged. We look forward to seeing you on the road.”
