MarketPlace Debuts Love Song for Gardening Enthusiasts Featuring Monty Don

Indie-Pop Group Market Releases New Single

HartlePool’s indie-pop group Market has unveiled their latest single, 'Oda Monty'. This playful take on a traditional love song is centered around Gardeners and the beloved Monty Don.

About Their Musical Journey

The new track from this five-member band follows the release of their debut EP, maintaining their distinct blend of indie while capturing the energetic essence of their live shows. The single was produced by Chad Rogers, recognized for his work with Benjamin Francis Leftwich and Cape Cube.

“We aimed to create a genuinely heartfelt love song, something we hadn’t tackled before due to our tendency to not take ourselves too seriously,” explains vocalist Evi. “Often, our lyrics feature clever wordplay, so when Ross (the drummer) suggested, ‘How about Monty Don, the famous gardener?’ he inspired the direction of the song’s narrative.”
