Mark Ronson’s Upcoming Memoir
Mark Ronson is set to release his memoir, “Night People”, through Century, delving into his formative years as a DJ in 1990s New York.
Capturing a Transformative Era
The book chronicles Ronson’s evolution from an outsider relocating from London to New York in his childhood, as he sought to establish himself in the vibrant club scene and hip-hop arena of the city.
“DJing in 90s New York shaped everything that followed, laying the groundwork for my future work and creativity,” Ronson shares. “In ‘Night People’, I aimed to encapsulate this pivotal time in my life and honor three of my great passions: the art of DJing, the exhilarating energy of New York after dark, and the wild, wonderful characters who made up our community and became my second family. This book serves as a love letter to a vanishing era that not only shaped my career but also molded my identity—an era when I discovered my craft.
Century’s editor, Zenenor Comton, notes, “With ‘Night People’, Mark Ronson demonstrates that he is not just a hitmaker of his generation but also a talented writer. He paints a vivid picture of 90s New York that makes readers feel as though they’re at a party right beside him. This memoir is about the place, the scene, and the characters, as well as the person he has become. His passion for music and experiences are intricately woven throughout each page.
The memoir is scheduled for release on September 25.
