Virgin Music Group Appoints New Executive Vice President

Virgin Music Group, part of Universal Music Group, has appointed Mark Robinson as executive vice president of global business and legal affairs.

In this newly established role and as part of Virgin’s senior management team, Robinson will manage the company’s global business relationships and corporate strategy, according to VMG.

Robinson’s Extensive Experience

Robinson will also serve as a resource for “dealers around the world to disseminate best practices and help create the most effective partnerships possible,” VMG stated on Wednesday (Dec. 11).

The executive director will be based in New York and will report directly to Pastor and JT Myers, co-CEOs of Virgin Music Group.

Robinson joins Virgin Music Group from Paramount Global, where he managed music business affairs and legal strategies for Paramount’s brands, including MTV, CBS, BET, Nickelodeon, CMT, Showtime, and Paramount+.

Previously, he held the position of General Counsel and Business and Legal Affairs Partner at 300 Entertainment, as well as a similar role as General Counsel at BMG NA.

Robinson also spent nearly a decade in the business department at Warner Music Group, starting in 2004, where he held key positions in their independent divisions.
