Anniversary Edition of “We We Leppt”
A special version of the track marks the 10th anniversary of Hakman’s debut album, “We We Leppt,” which first introduced the song “The World.”
Hakman has created a new iteration of the track, recorded between Gatehouse at Abbey Road Studios and her own studio. This collaboration occurred as part of the annual partnership between Abbey Road and PitchFork London.
This minimalistic album features Marling’s vocals, adding depth and richness to the song, while understated instrumentation creates an obsessively intimate atmosphere. Check out the visualizer here:

In a post on X, Hakman expressed: “10 years since ‘we slept’ felt like the perfect time to refresh one of my all-time favorites from this record. Thanks to @lauramarlinghq for her lovely tones, and to my art school friend for a magical mix.”

Celebrating a Milestone
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of “We finally slept,” Hakman performed the album in its entirety, accompanied by strings, in the London chapel of the Trade Union Capherial on the evening of March 21.
Her fourth studio album, “Big Sigh,” was released in January 2024. In a four-star review, NME stated: “The result is a breakthrough work where Hakman raises the stakes in her music, making it feel natural; conceptually, it has matured while the songcraft makes this transition feel well-earned. If ‘what kind of man is a bunch’ was a rebound, then ‘Big Sigh’ feels like a reckoning after unacknowledged emotions, representing a defining moment for one of the most intriguing songwriters.”
Meanwhile, Marling recently completed her only live dates of 2025, with three shows at Albert Hall in Manchester, where she also announced her pregnancy with her second child.
