Legacy of P. Fluid
24-7 Spyz is a heavy metal band co-founded by P. Fluid in 1986. During the late ’80s and ’90s, they developed a fan following due to their unique fusion of heavy metal, reggae, and hard rock, gaining recognition alongside other funk metal bands like Living Color and Faith No More.
Forrest was also a co-founder of the Black Rock Coalition, a collective and non-profit arts organization established in New York City in 1985.
He contributed to the group’s songwriting and recording efforts on three of their albums: 1989’s Harder Than You, 1990’s Gumbo Millennium, and 1995’s Temporarily Disconnected. According to Rolling Stone, in 1990, Forrest first announced his departure from the band during a Jane’s Addiction concert where they were the opening act. He later returned to perform on “Temporarily Disconnected” before leaving once more.
On his own, Forrest took part in various short-lived projects, including a supergroup with Living Color’s Corey Glover and former Fishbone member Angelo Moore. He also made a comeback in the 2010s with a gothic rock project named BlkVampires, where he donned white makeup for their performances.
