Mahalal presents her new single 'Pressure Point' featuring Lila Ike.
Musical Inspiration
This track, influenced by reggae, has Mahalal delving into themes woven around guitar melodies and intimate connections. It follows her 2024 single “Pick Up the Pace” and comes off the heels of her second album “IRL”.
“For a long time, I have been a fan of Lila, so collaborating on this feels incredibly special,” Mahalal shares. “‘Pressure Points’ embodies this intoxicating blend of pleasure and pain found in relationships that we know we should let go of, but find hard to abandon. It explores the dirty, toxic facets while attempting to navigate them. Sometimes these pressure points hurt, but they can also illuminate moments of deep joy. I truly love this song and can’t wait for everyone to hear it!”
Regarding her current artistic direction, she reflects: “I adore love. However, I’ve recently been drawn to a brighter, more whimsical side of it. The world feels quite heavy right now – I want my music to be a sanctuary where people can discover joy and playfulness.”
