Maccabees Set to Embark on Their First UK and Ireland Tour in Nine Years

Maccabi Announcement

Maccabi has revealed their first tour in the UK and Ireland, nearly nine years after their Reformation, set to headline the “Eastern Festival” in London this summer.

Upcoming Performances

The band will perform in Dublin, Glasgow, and Manchester this August, alongside their previously announced gig at All Points East. Tickets will go on sale at 9 AM BST on April 11, with a pre-sale available at 9 AM BST on April 9.

Excitement for the Reunion

Guitarist Felix White expressed: “We cannot wait to become McCaves again! These shows will be truly magical as we play songs that have formed such an integral part of our lives together in the UK and Ireland, just before All Points East and the Eastern Festival. We sincerely don’t want to take this opportunity for granted, and we’re committed to making it special.”

This reunion follows an emotional moment in February 2020 at guitarist Hugo White’s wedding, where the band briefly came together to perform “Pelican.” This performance marked their first appearance since their farewell show at Alexandra Palace, revitalizing friendships among the bandmates.

The Maccabees—vocalist Orlando Weeks, guitarists Felix and Hugo White, bassist Rupert Jarvis, and drummer Sam Doyle—released four studio albums during their initial run, including their debut “Colour It In” and their acclaimed “Marks to Prove It.” Their accolades feature a Mercury Prize nomination for “Given to the Wild,” an Ivor Novello Award for Best Modern Song for “Pelican,” and Best British Group by NME in 2016.
