Lydia Night Showcases Her Car Skills in the Video for New Single “The Hears”

Lydia Night Releases New Single

Lydia Night shared her new single “ Jar ‘' through Warner Records, marking her second solo release after debuting with the track “Party of Pity”.

Exploring Emotional Consequences

The former frontwoman of the band “pressed” delves into the emotional aftermath of rejection.

“I wrote this song after grappling with my ego in a classic scenario, which can be described as small, foolish, and somewhat hypocritical,” explains Night. “I chose to use a hearse as a metaphor because sometimes a bruised ego in a romantic context can truly feel like death, especially when you believed you had everything invested, only to have the rug pulled out from under you. I think this feeling is very universal, and it’s something I’ve been trying to articulate for some time, so I wrote this song.”

The accompanying music video, filmed at night with Ramish Sattar, features Night driving a vintage pink fan through a thrilling car chase. “I didn’t anticipate being so passionate about directing, but it’s incredibly satisfying to express myself through so many different avenues at once,” she reveals. “I love looking back and knowing that every detail has meaning, even the little things that no one might ever notice.”

The track was produced by Alexis Kesselman in her home studio located in a bustling kitchen in New York. “I had never worked with a female producer before, and it changed everything for me,” says Night. “I felt a level of safety and comfort that allowed me to be my most genuine self.”
