Luvcat has released her new single “Pomade” along with an independent music video.
Exploring Love and Relationships
This track follows her recent European tour and delves into the themes of love and relationships. The single was inspired by an unexpected encounter with a musician who later contributed drums for the recording.
Inspired by Childhood
“Lipstick is a song about love and heartbreak. It’s about the desire to please, feeling like a small doll that you can play with, while also expressing tenderness and devotion,” says Luvcat. “This inspiration came from a meeting with someone who referred to me as a ‘doll’…”
The accompanying music video, featuring Luvcat and Ollie Bradley-Baker, draws on themes from classic cinema. “The video was inspired by my favorite scene from Chitty Chitty Bang ‘Doll On the Music Box. I’ve always enjoyed dressing like that since childhood… An integral doll comes to life to wreak havoc in the city. Some things never change, I believe,” she explains.
This release follows her previous singles – “Matador,” “He is My Man,” and “Love and Money,” which collectively garnered over 25 million streams. Luvcat has recently wrapped up her headline tour across Europe, performing in cities such as Cologne, Amsterdam, Paris, Brussels, Berlin, and Warsaw.
