Lupe Fiasco is preparing to launch a rap course at the Johns Hopkins Peabody Institute – details below.

On New Year’s Day (January 1), the renowned rapper shared on social media that he will be teaching a new four-year hip-hop degree program at Johns Hopkins University this fall.

He stated, “In the fall of 2025, I will join the faculty at the esteemed Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University as a Distinguished Visiting Professor, teaching rap in a groundbreaking 4-year hip-hop degree program led by the visionary professor Wendel Patrick.”

Lupe Fiasco expressed, “I’m honored to contribute to this legacy while pursuing what I love most—rapping.”

He also clarified that he will continue to teach as a lecturer for the time being. Visiting Professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and continue his scholarship at Yale University.
