The singer is friends with Cruise, who is the youngest son of David and Victoria Beckham, and helps him in writing songs.
Prechard shared the news in a recent interview with Sun as part of Strange The column stated that they share similar musical tastes and work together to discover his sound.
“He has a great taste in music,” he told The Outlet. “We chat about the classics, and not many people I can discuss this with. We started writing songs together, and we’ve become partners. I just want to help him navigate his music career.”
Understanding the Challenges
Brezhard explained that Cruz is already aware of the challenges he may face due to his famous parents and the potential stigma associated with being labeled a “Nepo Baby.”
“Of course, he will face criticism due to who his parents are. He is aware of it. It was amusing when he remarked: ‘Jesus was also a child.’ I found that to be a rather funny response.”
New Developments in Cruz’s Music Career
Cruz, now 20 years old, launched his debut single at the young age of 11 with the festive track “If Christmas.”
Messages about their collaboration surfaced after it was reported that Cruise signed a deal with a new music management company, aiming to develop a “more organic sound under the guidance of a guitar” compared to his debut single.
As for The Kooks, the band announced details of their seventh album, “Never/Loke,” at the beginning of the new year, releasing the title track as the lead single.
Set for release on May 9, “Never/I don’t know” follows the tracks from 2022, including “Echo in the Dark,” which was created with the help of the band.

Speaking with NME, the frontman shared how the band created this new material. “I spent so little time writing. I also took care of life, like doing the dishes!” he remarked.
“I didn’t think about it. It wasn’t necessarily a rigid stream of consciousness, but it captured the vibe I experienced while playing with my wife or friends. It felt like I was trying to get into a state of flow and let it unfold.”
He also mentioned how trusting his instincts allowed them to create a new album, stating: “I went through phases of not trusting myself and my taste. Every artist has those songs that they believe are their best, but that may not align with how others perceive them.”
He concluded: “I’m currently in a rather peaceful place, and I believe we’ve been incredibly lucky to have this amazing support—especially from the younger audience—which keeps us feeling fresh. We aim to convey a sense of positivity and romance with this album.”
