Departure and Future Plans

Formed 12 years ago by former Wu Lyf member Ellery Roberts and Ebony Hoorn, the duo announced via their official Instagram on Friday, February 28, that they will be releasing the “Song of Creation.” This track will mark their final release as Lost Under Heaven before going their separate ways.

“Much has transpired over the last few months, and considerable time has passed since we last posted here, so we wanted to share that we have decided to part ways,” their statement began.

They continued: “We can never predict where life will take us, but for the foreseeable future, we will no longer collaborate as Lost Under Heaven. There is only love between us, but after sharing so much of our lives—processing, working, and spending nearly all our time together for 12 years—it feels essential to create some space in order to reconnect with ourselves and fully embrace our individual expressions.

Reflections on Their Journey

“We discussed how there is a strange sense of ‘graduation’ at this moment. Despite the sadness, there is also a recognition that the past 12 years have been a transformative education in love and life, preparing us for this new chapter where we can strengthen our individual identities, drawing on everything that our time together has taught us. We have reflected each other to become who we are today.”

They concluded their statement with heartfelt thanks: “We were lost only to be found, forever anchored in the eternal. We want to express our gratitude to everyone who has supported our work over the past decade, contributing their time, energy, and creativity—especially to Ben Kelly, Louis Bowes, Gamaliel Trainor, Jake Chatteron, Olya Cooper, Stephen Hermitt, Joe Taylor, Sean Cheut, Adam Gorman, Jamie Allan, Bobby Krlin, Warren Bramly, John Wilkinson, the entire team at Mute Records, the VR team at Therapeutic Studios, Bronte, Alex, and everyone who directly supported us on Patreon. All our love, Ebony and Ellery.”

Lost Under Heaven’s final release was on 2023, titled “Something is declared your life,” marking their return after a four-year hiatus. Last year, the duo collaborated with Canadian poet Patrick Woodcock on Farchang.
