Awards Nominations Announced

The IVORS Academy has revealed its nominations for the 2025 awards, celebrating 74 individual composers and songwriters across eight categories including Best Album, Best Modern Song, and Best Song Musically and Lyrically.

Leading Nominations

Lola Young leads the nominations with three nods, while artists like Raye, Dua Lipa, Laura Marling, Orla Gartland, and Fontaines DC have also been recognized. In the Best Album category, the nominees include Charli XCX, Ghetts, Jordan Rakei, Lola Young, and Berwyn, while PA Salieu, Bashy, and Jade have received nominations in the Best Modern Song category.

The ceremonial event, marking the 70th anniversary, will take place at Grosvenor House in London on May 22, with U2 included in the Academy scholarship recognition.

In the Best Song category (Musical and Lyrical), nominees feature Laura Marling’s “Child,” Raye’s “Genesis,” Fontaines DC’s “In the Modern World,” Lola Young’s “Messy,” and Orla Gartland’s “Mine.”

For the PRS for Music Most Performed Work category, nominations include Harry Styles’ “As It Was,” Dua Lipa’s “Houdini,” and the timeless classic by Wham! The Rising Star Award with Amazon Music nominations includes Bea, Liang Lawrence, Lola Young, Lula, and Nia Smith.

The Academy also announced nominations for Best Original Film Score, Best Original Video Game Score, and Best Television Soundtrack, featuring composers like Daniel Pemberton, Miki Levy, and Oliver Coates.
