Lizzo shared that she and SZA nearly formed a rock band called Pussy Lasers, alongside another undisclosed artist.

This revelation came during a Twitch stream where Lizzo talked about her collaboration on SZA’s track “F2F” from the 2022 album “SOS.”
“We were just always friends, and this is a sacred space for me in this industry. We (had) this short period of time when we simply contacted the studio,” Lizzo mentioned during the stream. “One specific night, we were going to start a rock group called Pussy Lasers. Oh, damn it, she will not be angry if I say this.”
She continued, “We were going to create a rock group called Pussy Lasers with an incredible other artist whom I do not know if she even wants me to mention, so I’m not going to say her name.”
Reflection on F2F
While discussing F2F, Lizzo clarified that although the track wasn’t specifically meant for “pussy lasers,” its rock-influenced sound made it an ideal choice. “I was like, it’s hard, although … I said: ‘Man, pull this pussy lasers shit,’ and let me tell you: I sat and watched this girl freestyle the whole fucking song,” she explained. “She ate this shit … at the end of this … I said, ‘this is a song.’”
Lizzo also confirmed her involvement in the track, stating, “I harmonized with her, and this is me. This is a big me. I thought about this song all the time.”
During the stream, Lizzo praised SZA’s songwriting prowess, emphasizing that she writes the most insane and emotionally charged stuff, yet finds an extraordinary way to express it beautifully.
