Little Simz Expresses Disappointment Over Claims Against Producer Plopo: “It Was Hurtful”

Little Simz’s Lawsuit Against Her Producer

The little Simz expressed her feelings regarding the filing of a lawsuit against her former producer, stating that she felt “really disappointed and offended.”

Recently, it was revealed that the British rapper’s real name is Simbiath Adjikaso. This suit is related to Dean “Plupo,” the founder of Sault and producer of many SIMZ albums, including the award-winning “Grey Area” from 2019 and “No Gratitude” from 2021.

Details of the Allegations

Inflo has been accused in Simz’s lawsuit of holding onto loans she provided him, amounting to 1.7 million pounds, for over a year. Additionally, it is claimed that he did not account for the funds given by Sony to support the record.

Among the allegations, it is claimed that Simz contributed 1 million pounds to secure the sole Sault show at Drumsheds in London. The lawsuit alleges that Plupo was meant to repay Simz by early December 2023, but he was unable to do so. As a result, Simz reportedly could not meet her tax obligations and incurred interest costs.

Plupo has not publicly responded to the lawsuit.

In a recent interview with Billboard, Simz discussed the case for the first time. She noted that while creating “no, thank you,” she initiated and later declined four separate album projects that she believed would be produced with Plupo.

“They were magnificent, but it’s about the relationship with the person I collaborated with,” Simz commented on the alternative albums. “After ending those relations, I had to let that music be released … It’s like having a child with someone. You can separate from a person, but your love for the child doesn’t just stop.”

Her Upcoming Work and Performances

SIMZ’s new album, ‘Lotus,’ was released on June 6, with the single “Flood” receiving attention. According to Billboard, the album’s opening track directly addresses her situation with Plupo through the lyrics: “I was lucky that I came out now / this shame, I am very sorry for your wife … This man whom I knew all my life came as a disguised devil.”

Discussing how her relationship with Plupo influenced her songwriting, she revealed to Billboard: “I was really disappointed and pained, and I wanted to scream. But sometimes, it can be hard to begin from that place.”

Simz and Inflo met as children at the St. Mary youth club in London, and Simz maintained a close connection with Sault, appearing in the “show in Drumsheds” alongside his wife, Folo Sol, and Michael Kivanuk.

Before the release of ‘Lotus,’ Little Simz is set to oversee the 2025 Festival at the SouthBank London Center, where she will host a unique orchestral performance. The festival will also feature artists such as Streets, Lola Young, Getta, John Batist, and the Yukki Little Dragon in an 11-day event.
