Lily Allen Addresses Theory About Her Voice in Viral Dance Track “E.Motion” Featuring Fred

Lily Allen Responds to Viral AI Track

Lily Allen has addressed the speculation surrounding her voice in the viral dance track “E.Motion” which features the phrase “someone else.” The track gained immense popularity after being played on major platforms like BBC Radio 1.

Musical group E.Motion later revealed that their debut song was generated using AI, sparking curiosity among music fans worldwide about the identity of the voice featured in the track. Lily Allen and Fred appear to be the top contenders for this mysterious voice.

It remains uncertain whether the AI-generated voice is an altered version of Allen’s or Fred’s, or if it’s entirely performed by another artist.

Discussion on the Podcast

Recently, BBC Sounds shared a video of Allen discussing the track with her friend and host Miquita Oliver on the podcast Miss me?.

During their conversation, Oliver remarked, “The version of artificial intelligence is capturing charts!” stating that the track was “just everywhere,” to which Allen responded, “My cousin Graisi said, ‘My God, you again have a new song with Fred,’ and I was like, ‘No, I don’t!'”

Expressing her surprise, Allen stated, “I do not think that it sounds like me, to be honest! But many people do!” She also mentioned, “We do not know whether this is a real person who sings or if it is truly a version of the AI of my voice.” Oliver further inquired whether she was comfortable with people believing the voice might belong to her.

Allen replied, “It’s just strange. If you listen to E.Motion, you will bind us… I want them to tell us who it is and if this is my voice, or if this is a real person.”

Personal Reflections and Journey

Recently, Allen opened up about her journey of “taking pain” and considered getting a tattoo to honor this message following her breakup with David Harbor.

The news of their separation after four years of marriage emerged earlier this month. Allen and Harbor, known for his role in Stranger Things, began dating in 2019 after connecting through the Raya app and eventually wed in a Las Vegas ceremony in September 2020.

Following the split, Allen mentioned visiting a medical center to manage her “emotional turmoil.” In a recent episode of the podcast Miss me?, she expressed a desire for a new tattoo that encapsulates the message of “taking pain.” This inspiration came from her recent reading, which emphasized resilience.

“It really stood out for me, and I could even get it as a tattoo: ‘suffering X Pain = resistance,’” she shared with Oliver. “You must sit with pain, confront it, and embrace it.”

Allen elaborated, “I love pain; I caress pain. It’s normal for things to hurt, and if you resist it, that’s the cause of your actual suffering.”

Previously, the singer-songwriter took a break from Miss me? and other obligations to focus on her mental health. “I’m really not in a good place,” Allen admitted to Oliver. “I know I’ve talked about this for months, but I spiral, and it got out of control.”

Meanwhile, Allen and Oliver are set to record their Miss me? podcast in front of a live audience for the first time in March. In other news, Allen mentioned that she is “trying to show” progress on a new album to be released “by the end of the year.”
