Lil Baby’s Lawyers Condemn Atlanta Police Approval of Music Video Link to Youth Murder as “Shameful”

Response to Police Accusations

Law representatives of Lil Baby have responded to accusations from the Atlanta police claiming that his music video is linked to the murder of two teenagers.

Details from the Press Conference

On Wednesday (February 26), Major Ralph Wolfolk from the Atlanta Police Department (APD) held a press conference announcing the arrest of seven individuals connected to the murders of 13-year-olds, Davis and Lamon Freeman, in July 2024.

During the conference, local news Channel 2 Action News reported that Wolfolk made subconscious connections to the rapper, whose real name is Dominic Jones, asserting that the shooting during the filming of his music video in May 2024 precipitated a gang war leading to the tragic deaths of Davis and Freeman.

“The gang violence was orchestrated by adults, and the cowardly actions of the Atlanta rapper who chose to enter the stronghold of a rival gang, knowing he shouldn’t be there, contributed to this situation,” Wolfolk stated, as reported by Billboard. “This team will work tirelessly to hold you accountable.”

APD emphasized that numerous incidents and murders may be traced back to the filming of a music video in north Atlanta. Investigators allege that prison-affiliated individuals issued a hit on the teenagers using a phone from incarceration.

Lawyers Deny Any Wrongdoing

Lil Baby’s attorneys, Drew Findling and Marissa Goldberg, responded by labeling APD’s accusations as “utter nonsense,” asserting that dragging his name into the murder discussions is “unprofessional, unethical, and disgraceful.”

“The link made during Wednesday’s press conference by the Atlanta Police Department to Dominic Jones was complete nonsense,” the lawyers stated in a comment to Billboard on Friday (February 28).

They further elaborated: “To suggest he cannot shoot a music video in his hometown, a place he loves, is shameful. Furthermore, arrangements for large music shoots are made by a professional team, not just one individual.”

“Involving his name in discussions about a horrible crime in which he had absolutely no role is unprofessional, unethical, and shameful. Dominic is heartbroken by the situation as these children came from the same neighborhood he did, and he aims to continue uplifting his community in every way possible.”
