Remembering Liam
The former One Direction star tragically died on October 16 last year after falling from the balcony of the third floor at the Casasur Palemo hotel in Buenos Aires, with his cause of death attributed to multiple injuries and internal and external bleeding.
At the Brit Awards on Saturday (March 1), an emotional video featuring Dani, identified for the singer, alongside presenter Jack Whitehall, highlighted the time to honor a “very special person who meant so much to many people in this room and millions around the world.”
The Payne family released a statement in response to the video, stating, “This weekend, at the Brit Awards, Liam was remembered for his phenomenal contribution to British music and for the wider, positive impact he had on millions of fans around the world. We joined this celebration of his life and will forever cherish the joy his music brought to the world.”

The Search for Peace
They described his death as “an inexpressible tragedy” and noted the “huge grief and pain for those who knew and loved him.”
“The constant attention from the media and the speculations surrounding the process have caused indescribable, long-term damage to the family, especially to Liam’s son, who is trying to cope with emotions that no seven-year-old should have to experience,” they added.
“The family has always desired privacy to grieve and requests that they be given space and time for this.”
Payne’s friend Roger Norore, who accompanied him to Buenos Aires, and two hotel workers were cleared of all accusations related to the singer’s death last year. Five individuals were arrested and charged, including Norore for careless murder, while the hotel employees faced charges of unintentional homicide.
The family statement addressed this directly: “We understand that the investigation into Liam’s death was absolutely necessary, and the family acknowledges the work done by the Argentine authorities. Nevertheless, the family supports the Court of Appeal’s decision to dismiss all charges.”
After the tribute aired, Payne’s former bandmate Louis Tomlinson took to X/Twitter to thank the organizers for the “excellent tribute.” He added: “I always miss you, brother.” Add
