Liam Payne Reflects on Singer’s Positive Mindset After Leaving Argentina

Tragic Death of Liam Payne

Former friend of Liam Payne, Kate Cassidy, shared that the singer was “in such a good free space” when she departed from Argentina to return home.

The solo artist and former member of One Direction died on October 16 after a fatal fall from the balcony on the third floor of the Casasur Palermo hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. According to the Argentinean prosecutor’s office, the cause of death, at the age of 31, was attributed to multiple injuries along with internal and external bleeding.

Moments Before His Passing

Prior to his death, Payne and Cassidy were enjoying a vacation in Argentina, where they attended a concert by Payne’s friend, Niall Horan. Cassidy returned home due to her “duties” to attend to.

In her first interview since Payne’s tragic fall, Cassidy expressed that he was in “such a good free space” when she left Argentina, but noted, “you never know when (his dependence) will come out.”

She elaborated on her reason for leaving Argentina: “Initially, we thought that we would be only about a week in Argentina … We had responsibility. We had a dog, and I never would have imagined that this event could happen.”

Reflecting on her choice to return to Miami against Payne’s wish to extend their trip, she stated, “If I could look into the future, I would never leave Argentina.”

The Aftermath and Remembrance

Payne had previously spoken about his struggles with mental health. Regarding this, Cassidy remarked: “I am stuck with Liam, you know, thick and thin. And I think that love is so optimistic, and you just hope that everything will eventually work.”

By the end of October, a close friend of Cassidy revealed that her decision to leave Payne in Argentina two days before his tragic passing haunted her. “She did what she had to do at that time. She had no idea what was supposed to happen. I can tell you that her decision will pursue her for the rest of her life,” the source disclosed.

Cassidy also paid tribute to Payne through an Instagram story, saying: “Thank you for all the kind words and love sent my way. I am experiencing profound loss. Nothing in the last few days felt real. I ask for grace and privacy as I navigate this.”

She concluded her heartfelt message, stating: “Liam, my angel. You are everything to me. I want you to know that I love you unconditionally and completely. I will continue to love you until the end of my life. I love you, Liam.”

This comes after reports that the remaining members of One Direction plan to honor Liam Payne at this year’s Brit Awards.

Last month, a court hearing in Buckinghamshire confirmed that Payne’s death was due to a “political trauma,” which involved multiple traumatic injuries sustained by his body.

Additionally, Payne’s friend Roger Norore recently filed a federal defamation lawsuit against the late star’s father for slander. Norore is one of five individuals charged in Argentina regarding the singer’s death along with the manager of the Casasur Palermo Hotel, Jilda Martin, and other staff members.
