Liam Gallagher’s New Pool Plans
Liam Gallagher is constructing a pool at his mansion in North London, despite having previously admitted that “he could not swim.”
Construction Details
According to Standard, the Oasis frontman received approval for plans to build a secure wall, a gate, and a 24-foot pool at his Highgate residence last September. Recently, workers were seen digging an elongated pit intended for the expansive pool.
This ongoing construction continues even after his humorous remarks about his struggles with swimming, made during his appearance on Gogglebox in 2017 alongside his mother Peggy and son Gin.
“I (and the Noel and Paul brothers) cannot swim,” he confessed on the show, to which Jin humorously replied: “You can swim, just not with your head. You go underwater.”
“I can make half the width,” the singer shared concerning the “Glass Wall.” “I would like to swim. I struggle when things get deeper, at which point I start flapping around like some crazy salmon, and I need to get back. I’m struggling just to take a shower.”
When Peggy mentioned that she swims quite regularly, Gallagher remarked: “It is good for you. This is grandiose. I envy you, dude.”
Gallagher’s Family Ties and Future Performances
His decision to build a pool seems to parallel his brother Noel’s choice to purchase a classic Jaguar, even though he cannot drive. Reflecting on this costly mistake in a 2019 interview with Radio X, he stated: “I thought that when I became a completely blown-up rock star, I needed a car.”
“I heard about this company that takes an old vintage car and puts a modern engine in it. So, I got a 1967 Jaguar Mark 2, the same year I was born. But they needed 18 months to two years, and I thought I’d easily learn to drive in that time.”
He later forgot about the purchase until the two-door MK2 arrived at his doorstep. Ultimately, he managed to “forget” about it for 25 years, as he never obtained a driver’s license.

Meanwhile, both brothers are set to perform at several major shows throughout Great Britain and Ireland this summer as part of their long-awaited reunion tour. Following local concerts, the band will head overseas for international dates.
As of now, little is known about which artists will join Liam and Noel for these grand concerts, but the frontman has teased hints about the setlists and expressed hopes for new material.
Liam also recently shared his admiration for the Sex Pistols, despite Glen Matlock referring to Oasis as “boring.” “I remember when I first saw this record, I thought it was a damn Ouija board. Then I heard it, and all the heavens burst into freedom,” he stated. “If you don’t have it, buy it now.”
